Conferences Update

2020 Summer Conference
Thank you to everyone who presented and participated in PMEA’s first virtual event! It’s not too late to take advantage of this outstanding professional development opportunity by registering and accessing the recorded presentations, which will be available until October 24.. Nearly 30 hours of Act 48 credits are available as each session is worth one Act 48 hour upon completion of the session survey (one for each individual session attended) and a PDE survey for the entire event.

For everyone who participated – we greatly appreciate your input through completion of the 2020 PMEA Virtual Summer Conference Survey.

2021 Annual Conference
As announced last month, the 2021 PMEA Annual Conference will be held virtually this year. Plans are now underway for what that will look like. We will seek input from the membership regarding the format to best fit attendees’ teaching schedules. We will also seek input from exhibiting businesses and organizations as to how they can best be included in this event. Please watch for the opportunity to weigh in.

Presenters & performing groups selected for the 2020 event, as well as those who submitted a proposal for the 2021 event, will be contacted in the coming weeks regarding possible participation in the virtual annual conference. A new call for performing groups will not take place.

Eastern Division Conference
The NAfME National Executive Board has approved the postponement of the 2021 Division Conference & All-Eastern Honors Ensembles for Hartford, CT, to now take place in April of 2025. (The 2023 Eastern Division Conference will be held in Rochester, NY.) Eastern Division leaders are now looking into virtual options for the 2021 event.
