Yoga for Musicians

Learn about the benefits of yoga for the physical and mental wellbeing of musicians, and how it can enhance performance. Participants will get to experience a beginner yoga practice for musicians.

Yoga focuses on the breath, body and mind; three things that musicians must also focus on to be successful. Regular practice of yoga can aid musicians in concentration, performance anxiety, tone production, physical wellness, and injury prevention. This session will begin by introducing participants to a beginner-appropriate yoga practice that addresses breathing, posture and muscle use, followed by a brief exploration of the practical, daily application of the practice.
