NAfME Eastern Division Conference & Honors Ensemble Information

2023 Eastern Division Conference 

Connect, Create, Communicate! at the 58th annual NAfME Eastern Division In-Service Conference, April 13-16, hosted by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) in Rochester, NY.
The deadline to submit session proposals and performing group applications has passed at this time.
Application Information for students interested in applying to perform in a 2023 NAfME All-East Honors Ensemble is now available. The deadline to submit is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 30. Application fee: $20.

An eligible student must:
1. Be in grade 11 or 12 during the 2022-23 school year;
2. Attend schools in one of the eleven Northeastern states of the United States (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland,
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont), the District of Columbia,
or a Department of Defense School in Europe;
3. Have been selected to perform in a 2022 PMEA All‐State festival on the instrument/voice part for which they are
applying with the exception of Modern Band.
4. Be a member of their school’s choral or instrumental ensemble corresponding with the ensemble for which application
is made, with the exception of Modern Band.
5. Receive endorsement from their school’s principal or superintendent and ensemble director, who must be a current
NAfME member.
*An All-East Modern Band ensemble has been added to the 2023 festival. Please note that students interested in applying to that program only will need to submit an audition. Prepared pieces/songs should be uploaded to Youtube. *Please make sure that the recordings are uploaded as public or unlisted files.
