PART TIME ACCOMPANIST-YOUTH OPERA

The Central Pennsylvania Youth Opera is actively seeking a talented pianist to accompany young members at weekly Monday evening rehearsals (6:30-8:30 p.m.-Country Meadows-Mechanicsburg) starting December 1st thru mid-May. Position also includes tech rehearsals and performances in late April for world premiere of new family opera.

Choir Accompanist Wanted for Church Music Program

St. Peter’s Pikeland UCC Church in Chester Springs, PA is actively seeking a talented pianist to accompany its energetic choral program.  The music ministry, under the direction of Mr. Matthew Hill, is comprised of three choirs: Senior Choir, comprised of 25 adults who perform weekly anthems and choral benedictions; Harmony Choir, which performs contemporary Christian literature every other month; and the Junior Choir, comprised of singers ages 4-8 who sing every other month.  The position consists of one Thursday night rehearsal (7:30-9:30pm), one Sunday service (9:15am-11:15am), and one additional rehearsal per month with the children’s choirs (30 minutes).  Additional services may arise during the Advent/Christmas and Lenten seasons. 

Competitive compensation will be commensurate to experience, and the choirs perform from September through the second week of June.  In addition, candidates with experience playing the organ would be considered for the vacant organist position, and are strongly encouraged to apply.  If interested, please contact Music Director Matthew Hill at Matt@MatthewHill.org, or by phone at 610-933-6419.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is seeking a part time organist/choir director to lead worship services.

Weekly Hours - All Sunday worship services, Wednesday evening Lenten Services, Holy Week Services, weddings, funerals and other occasional special services; conduct weekly choir rehearsals and practice playing for the up coming service (see job requirements below).

Job Requirements

  1. Play all Sunday worship services
  2. Play for all special services, unless assigned to the assistant organist or substitute organist by The Worship and Music Committee. A special service is to be defined by The Worship & Music Committee as needed.
  3. Practice enough to play proficiently for all upcoming worship services.
  4. Select anthems to be used for worship services.
  5. Select preludes, offertories and postludes; provide list for publication in the bulletin.
  6. Conduct choir practices
  7. Coordinate a schedule with the assistant organist and/or substitute organist that is mutually acceptable. Advise the Worship & Music Committee of this schedule.
  8. Serve as a member of the Worship & Music Committee, attending meetings
  9. Attend quarterly staff meetings
