From PMEA President, Chuck Neidhardt
Welcome to the website of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. The Mission of PMEA is to advance music education by encouraging excellence in the study, teaching and making of music.
PMEA sponsors many In Service programs for the benefit of our members. Chief among these is our annual Spring In Service conference held in April. This conference presents many nationally known music educators as well as Pennsylvania music educators as clinicians along with several of our finest school performing ensembles. Each July we sponsor a one and a half day conference in State College. In addition, many of our District sponsor various one day In Service conferences throughout the school year.
PMEA supports a vast number of festivals for students from elementary through high school.
PMEA sponsors Adjudication Festivals for large ensembles and soloists.
Our Curriculum and Instruction committee develops and presents many In Service projects for our members.
PMEA has several avenues for recognizing the outstanding efforts of our members, along with those of our outstanding Superintendents in Pennsylvania.
You are invited to explore our website and discover the many offerings we have for our members.
Sincerely,
Chuck Neidhardt
PMEA President
