PMEA DISTRICT 4
2006-07 CLEARFIELD COUNTY REPORT
Greetings from Clearfield County. Welcome to the 2006-07 School Year! Hopefully everyone is off to a good start and ready to face the challenges and triumphs that this year has to offer. The past years have shown building renovation programs in various stages, administrative changes, and budget concerns. Whatever the changes, we can all be assured that the students in our schools will still receive the best music education possible thanks to our highly dedicated teachers and hard working booster groups.
CLEARFIELD AREA - Clearfield Area has always had one of the finest
and most active music programs around. The Annual Marching Band Show will
be held at the Clearfield High School Bison Sports Complex on Saturday, October
28.
Clearfield will also be the host for the 2007 PMEA Region III State Band Festival to be held March 21-24 with Mr. Ray Mandell serving as Host Director.
CURWENSVILLE - In the land of the "Golden Tide", Band Director Cindy Penvose has been recovering from the 2006 District Band Festival. There are no changes in staff and all is going well.
GLENDALE - The musical will return to the Glendale stage on January 19-20, 2007, as the Music Department will present "Annie" This will be their first musical in 20 years and will be under the direction of Choral Director Jenna Manges.
HARMONY - Music Director Michael Krach reports that the Harmony Owls Band will soon be receiving new uniforms. All else is well in the land of the Owls.
MOSHANNON VALLEY - The Black Knights have seen things stay pretty much the same with no significant changes in staff or scheduling. Preparations are under way for the Holiday Concerts and Festival Participation as well as the Spring Music Trip.
WEST BRANCH - High School Choral Director Linda
Nelson is on a year long medical leave. Her substitute is Amanda Nebel, a
graduate of Clarion University.
No other significant changes have been reported from the West Branch Warriors.
We wish all of our colleagues a very successful and rewarding 2006-07 School Year.
